For those of you who are new here and are curious what this is about, this is a monthly newsletter where we go ‘magpie’ mode to curate our favorite data visualizations from all the nooks and crannies where we do research.

Hidden costs

In July, S&P put out a report that went to lengths to price otherwise unpriced environmental externalities globally and segment them by industry. Here are some of the stand-out charts. First, the lion’s share of unpriced costs is in greenhouse gas emissions, with air pollution in second:
